(Chicago, IL) — Sentencing is delayed for the so-called ComEd Four. The delays were granted after the U.S. Supreme Court decided to take up a corruption case out of Northwest Indiana. A decision from the high court overturning that conviction could set new rules for the federal bribery statute that would invalidate the ComEd Four convictions. Anne Pramaggiore, Michael McClain, John Hooker, and Jay Doherty were found guilty in May of conspiring to influence and reward former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan in order to assist with the passage of legislation favorable to the electric utility company.
