The Grande Levee is set for Saturday on the grounds of the Vandalia Statehouse.
The period craft demonstrations and the selling of wares will be going on from 10 am to 4 pm. A traveling museum from Charles Lyons and his collection of Lincoln memorabilia will be on display at 10:30 am and the World Bird Sanctuary will be on hand from 11 am to 1 pm. There will be Trolley Rides available from 11 am to 3 pm. Folk music by Chris Villillo will begin at 11 am. There will be a presentation by Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by Randy Duncan in the House of Representatives chambers at 12:15 pm. There will be animal tales with creepy critters beginning at 1 pm. And, at 2 pm, Bryan Dale Headley, The Singing Blacksmith from Rural Heritage on RFD-TV, will demonstrate the forging of an unfolded cross which will be given away to a member of the audience.
