(Virden, IL) — One person is dead after a small plane crashed outside Virden this weekend. The Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency crews responded to the crash just before 9 a.m. Saturday. The pilot was the only person on board the single-engine plane. The NTSB is now investigating the cause of the crash.
