(Macon Co., IL) — The first West Nile virus positive mosquitoes have been detected in Macon County. That adds it to the list of eight other counties in Illinois reporting mosquitoes positive with the virus. So far, no human cases of West Nile have been reported to the Illinois Department of Public Health this year. Still, they encourage residents to use insect repellent and avoid being outdoors during dusk and dawn when mosquitos are feeding the most.
