(South Elgin, IL) — A girl who was abducted from Illinois six years ago is safe. Authorities say Kayla Unbehaun was nine-years-old when she was abducted by her non-custodial mother, Heather Unbehaun, from South Elgin, Illinois in July of 2017. She was found safe in North Carolina and police arrested her mother in Asheville, North Carolina over the weekend. The case was mentioned during an episode of the Netflix series “Unsolved Mysteries.”
