This afternoon’s storms have led to a major amount of power outages in Fayette County this evening.
On their website, Southwestern Electric Cooperative lists better than 2500 of their members affected as of this time. Ameren has scattered outages listed on their website outage map at this time, although the numbers do seem to have come down.
The area was hit with a severe storm that brought winds of better than 60 miles per hour along with heavy downpours during the 3 pm hour today. We should remain dry and drop down into the 40s for tonight.
