Betty Abendroth, age 83, of St. Elmo, Illinois passed away at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, July 05, 2015 at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia, Illinois.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the New Horizon Church in St. Elmo, Illinois with one hour viewing prior to service. Pee Wee Denton will be officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in St. Elmo, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at C & A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, Illinois. She was born on June 27, 1932 in St. Elmo, Illinois, the daughter of Sigle and Neoma (Newcomb) Force. She married Earl Abendroth on August 31, 1957 in St. Elmo, Illinois, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2012. She was a member of the Brownstown VFW, Brownstown Ladies Auxiliary and the Golden Years Club.
Betty is survived by her two sons, David Abendroth of St. Elmo, Illinois and Jerry Abendroth of St. Elmo, Illinois; three daughters, Naomi Jennings of Beecher City, Illinois, Eileen Devall (husband Travis) of Vandalia, Illinois and Darlene Mitchell (husband Roger) of St. Elmo, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Susan Abendroth of St. Elmo, Illinois; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sigle and Neoma Force; one son, Darrell “Turkey” Abendroth; three brothers, Virgil , Eugene, and Ivan Force; two sisters, Nellie Durbin and Goldie Harris; son-in-law, Noah Jennings.
