Vandalia senior quarterback Matthew Hagy has been named as a member of the 2022 Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State Football Team for Class 2A. Hagy was one of 18 players in 2A chosen for the team which also includes two other players from the South Central Conference in Pana QB Max Lynch and North Mac lineman Cooper Starks. Hagy threw for 1,616 yards this past season and also ran for 878 yards to cap off his career with 4,376 career passing yards and a combined 6,704 yards of offense. Hagy was also named First Team All-Conference for the South Central Conference. Hagy now looks to continue his football career at the collegiate level. Most recently, Hagy was extended an official offer from Illinois College and will look to make a decision as to what school he will be attending in the near future.
