(Peoria, IL) — Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria is revealing more information about the deadly officer-involved shooting this week in Peoria. Echevarria said four officers were involved in the shooting that left Samuel Richmond dead. Officers were responding to a shot spotter alert Monday night in the 800 block of West McBean Street when they located Richmond armed with a firearm. Echevarria said Richmond placed the officers in a life-threatening situation, so they had to use deadly force. All four officers have been placed on administrative leave.
