With early voting getting underway starting today, Fayette County Clerk Jessica Barker wants the public to know the Fayette County Courthouse will now be a Campaign Free Zone. Barker says that if you do not wish to remove bumper stickers/decal from your vehicle you will no longer be able to park on the property. The Fayette County Courthouse and grounds are officially considered a Polling location and is now a Campaign Free Zone, statute 10ILCS 5/7-41.
Any persons entering grounds with such propaganda (hats, shirts, masks, decals, etc.) will be asked to cover or remove propaganda items.

Sec. 29-11. Failure to comply with order of election authority. Any person who knowingly fails or refuses to comply with any lawful order of an election authority issued by the election authority in the performance of the duties of the election authority, shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
This law pertains to all Polling Locations and will be strictly enforced.
