With inflation not loosening its grip on the country, Illinois small businesses owners continue to struggle to pay their rent. According to the small business referral network Alignable, the August Rent Report reveals Illinois small business owners are second in the nation for not being able to pay their rent or pay it in full.
That is Chuck Casto, the head of research at Alignable. He says one category of small business owners is hurting more than others.
Nationally, only 23 percent of small business owners said they have fully recovered to their pre-COVID revenue levels, which is the worst monthly recovery rate in the past year.
