There were not many reports of any damage or problems from yesterday’s storms, but there was one individual that reported being injured during yesterday’s storms. A man working in McInturff Cemetery was injured when a storm arrived Wednesday morning. The original call was that a tree had fallen on the man, but Fayette County Sheriff Chris Smith said that did not turn out to be the case. The man was preparing for a funeral and was setting up a tent when the strong wind caused the tent to be knocked over. Sheriff Smith said the man was knocked down and his head struck a tombstone, causing a cut to his head. The man was taken by ambulance to Fayette County Hospital for treatment. As for any other issues, Sheriff Smith reported there was a tree down on Illinois Route 185, just west of Bethel Baptist Church. And, Sheriff Smith said there was a tree down in the southern part of the county that was across County Road 60 East. Fayette County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Kendra Craig said other than reports of some trees and tree limbs down, there were no major damage reports.
