October weather was warm and wet in Illinois. It didn’t really feel like fall last month, especially during the first few weeks. Overall, State Climatologist Trent Ford says temperatures were 5 to 8 degrees above average in October.
The highest temperature recorded last month was 91 degrees in Congerville in the Peoria area. Ford says October was also pretty soggy. Rainfall was 1 to 3 inches above normal in Southern Illinois and 3 to 6 inches above average in Central and Northern Illinois.
