After several years without, the Vandalia School District is looking to again pick up the cost of transportation for sports and extracurricular activities. Over the past several years, the teams or clubs have been responsible for transportation—either raising money to fund using the school’s vehicles or just finding their own way to events. But, the Vandalia School Board looks to bring back the school pick up that cost. Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Garrison says it would be for this upcoming school year.
Dr. Garrison says the cost when the school provided transportation in the past was about $50,000. But, she thinks they might be able to keep it a bit lower going forward.
As Dr. Garrison stated, it is expected the board will most likely make a decision at their July meeting.
