Meanwhile, the passing of the appropriations bill will bring some long awaited funding to the City of Vandalia. The bill will allow funds to be release for the Gaming Tax, Motor Fuel Tax and Use Tax. The City of Vandalia has not received any Motor Fuel Tax money since June 3rd—which averages better than $15,000 per month, no Use Tax revenues since August 14th—those usually average about $12,500 per month, and no Gaming Tax money since June 15th—and that tax has grown to now averaging about $11,500 per month. The bill passed yesterday by the State Senate and signed by the Governor should start to release those funds.
