With no MAP Grant funding yet approved by Illinois lawmakers, some college students are left wondering about their academic future. More than 130 thousand students rely on MAP Grants to help pay for school. Colleges accepted those students for the fall semester, hoping to eventually be paid by the state. State Senator Scott Bennett says with no funding in sight, students will be worried.
Some colleges have already said they will try and find the money to get MAP Grant student thru the first of the school year. Bennett would like to see the legislature pass MAP Grant funding as soon as possible.
