The Altamont Indians soccer season came to an end with a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in extra time to Teutopolis in the semifinals of the Effingham 1A Regional on Tuesday night. The Indians were first to get on the scoreboard when Aiden Rosales scored on a penalty kick in the 46th minute. The Wooden Shoes were able to tie things up at 1-1 though in the 55th minute and the game remined tied through the end of regulation sending the game into overtime. Following much of the storyline when the two teams met last year in the postseason, an oddly timed called by the officials happened at a key point in the game, this one coming in overtime which gave Teutopolis a penalty kick that they converted to go up 2-1. Altamont made several late attempts to even the game up but ran out of time and had to take the gut wrenching 2-1 loss. The Indians end the season with a record of 11-7-3.
