Vandalia grad and current NIU golfer continued his strong start to the summer winning the 61st Miller Lite Joliet Amateur Championship this weekend at Wedgewood Golf Course. McCall shot a 6 under par 65 sitting one stroke back of the leader at the end of the first round on Saturday. McCall then shot a 5 under 66 for the second round on Sunday to finish the regulation 36 holes in a tie with Charlie Kulwin of Chicago as both stood at 11 under par 131, sending the Championship to a playoff hole. McCall’s second shot on the playoff hole put him just feet from the pin as he then tapped in the putt for an Eagle on #18 to claim the title. McCall has picked up a second place finish and now two Amateur Championship finishes in the last few weeks to jump start his summer play.
