Our warm up continues today.
We are looking at mostly sunny skies for today with a high of 72. We do have a chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight with a low of 60. South winds will gust up to 20 miles per hour tonight.
Meanwhile, the warm up will continue on Thursday as we’ll get into the mid to upper 80’s for a high. But, a dramatic change is coming after that as we will see a low of 41 on Thursday night. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says severe storms are on the way for Thursday night/Friday morning. The NWS says a cold front will bring an opportunity for thunderstorms moving southeast through the area Thursday night, some of which will be severe. The NWS adds that confidence is highest in thunderstorms developing behind the front with a threat for large hail from 7 pm t0 3 am Thursday night. They add that confidence is lower in an earlier development of thunderstorms along and ahead of the front, which would additional include damaging winds and a low tornado threat.
