Our much warmer days will come to an end today.
Today we are looking at increasing clouds with a high of 86. Winds out of the southwest will gust better than 20 miles per hour during the day today.
Then, we have a chance of showers and storms tonight with a low of 33. Winds will be from the northwest tonight and gust better than 35 miles per hour.
The National Weather Service in St. Louis says a cold front will move through the region today, keeping high temperatures across northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois in the 70s. South of the front temperatures will be able to warm into the mid 80s to low 90s, similar to yesterday. As the front moves through winds will increase, causing 30-40 mph gusts that will be able to move around lightweight outdoor objects. Later tonight showers and a few thunderstorms are expected to pop along and just behind the front across southwest and south-central Illinois. The strongest thunderstorms will be capable of small hail and brief downpours.
