
Several contracts were approved at Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting for bands, fireworks, a carnival and other features for SummerFest 2026–which is scheduled to be at Vandalia Lake July 2nd through 4th.
Before each contract was officially voted on, City Economic Development and Tourism Director Amber Daulbaugh would explain what it was for to the City Council.
-The council approved a contract with K & S Southern Midways. Daulbaugh says they will be providing a carnival with free rides during SummerFest. This is also the same carnival that will later be at the Fayette County Fair. The cost is $25,000.
-The council approved a contract with Harrison Sound to take care of lighting, stage and sound for the bands. This will be at a cost of $4,700.
-The City Council approved a contract with Elite Events. Daulbaugh says they will provide interactive inflatable games during SummerFest. The cost is $4,900.
-The Vandalia City Council approved a live music performance contract with Lady Liberty. Daulbaugh says they are a 5 piece band and will provide patriotic music. The cost is $1,500.
-The council approved live music performance contract with ScotteeeRock Solo Show. Daulbaugh says they will be the Friday night opening band. The cost is $500.
-The City Council approved a contract with KRS Uproar, Inc. Daulbaugh says this is for the Friday night headliner band, Headbanger’s Ball. The cost is $6,500 plus 4 hotel rooms.
-The council approved a contract with Tribute. Daulbaugh says they will perform from 4 pm to 7 pm on Saturday. This cost is $2,000.
-The City Council approved a contract with Neon Rodeo. Daulbaugh says they are a ’90’s country band and will perform on Saturday night. The cost is $2,800.
-And, the Vandalia City Council approved a contract with J & M Displays for fireworks on Thursday night. Daulbaugh says the time of the show will be the same but there will be more fireworks in the air during the show, making for a bigger show this year. The cost is $20,000 and that is up from $13,000 last year.
