(Chicago, IL) — Illinois is launching a new program to help first-time homebuyers. The program offers up to 15-thousand-dollars in down payment and closing cost assistance for eligible first-time homebuyers statewide. Eligibility is based on the borrower’s credit profile, household income, and the purchase price of the home. In Cook County, the program is available to first-time homebuyers earning up to 138-thousand-dollars, pending household size.
