We could see some dry time for today. But, showers and storms will return for tonight and into Saturday.
Our forecast for today says we could see some rain early this morning. But, we’ll otherwise see partly sunny skies today with a high of 76. Winds from the southwest will gust about 30 miles per hour today. Then, rain and thunderstorms will return for tonight. We’ll see a low of 62.
Meanwhile, we do have a chance of severe weather—potentially late tonight or into Saturday’s overnight hours. In their latest Weather Briefing, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says thunderstorms are likely to move into the area tonight and into Saturday overnight. The biggest threat for severe weather at this time looks to be in central/northeast Missouri. The NWS says it is unclear how long thunderstorms will maintain their intensity as they move east. But, if storms remain severe, damaging wind gusts and brief, weak tornadoes are possible.
As of this time, all of Fayette County is the in Marginal Category for severe storms.
