Vandalia City Council Approves Several Road Closures for Upcoming Events

The Vandalia City Council approved several road closures for a trio of events in the city this year. During its consent agenda, the council approved the closure of Gallatin Street from 3^rd to 7^th Street for the annual Lions Club Halloween Parade that will be held on Thursday, October 29 this year at 7:00pm and approved the closure of Gallatin Street from 3rd to 6^th Street for the “Third Annual Vandalia, Illinois Car Cruise” that will be held on Saturday, August 15. The biggest closure approved covers six dates for a new event, a “Pickers Market” that will coincide with the Vandalia Farmers Market each month from May to October. The closure of Gallatin Street from 4^th to 6^th Street was approved for the Pickers Market to be held May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12 and October 10.
