(Springfield, IL) — Chicago leaders are still working to keep the Bears in Chicago. The city’s acting CFO Steve Mahr testified yesterday during a House committee meeting in Springfield about the bill related to the stadium project. Mahr expressed desire to convince the team to build a stadium on the Museum Campus, saying their department would have negative long-term consequences. Mahr added that if the state is willing to support infrastructure spending to facilitate a new sports stadium elsewhere, it should be willing to do the same for the Museum Campus.
