It seems there are a lot of alternative vehicles on the roadways these days.
Vandalia Police Chief Jeff Ray was our guest this week on our weekly podcast “Talking about Vandalia.” And, he discusses the various vehicles on the roads and the rules that are governing them—or not governing them at this point.
The easiest one to discuss is golf carts and side by sides, as the City of Vandalia officially approved these vehicles to be on the streets a few years back. Chief Ray says the process to get licensed with a golf cart or side by side is pretty straightforward.
And, he says there have been very few traffic issues with the golf carts or side by sides.
