(Springfield, IL) — Efforts to keep the Bears in Illinois are moving forward. WGN-TV reports state lawmakers filed a bill last night that outlines tax breaks for the team to lure them to Arlington Heights. The measure is expected to be discussed in a committee meeting today in Springfield. The legislation would allow a 20-year property tax assessment freeze for mega-projects like a new stadium. Over in Indiana today, lawmakers are expected to send a bill that clears the way to fund a stadium in Hammond to their governor.
