The Vandalia School Board handled several personnel moves at their February meeting.
The Board approved the retirement of Vandalia Junior High Principal Brian Kern for September 30th of 2031 and Junior High Assistant Principal Brian Holliday for June 30th of 2031. The board also approved the retirement for Junior High School Teacher John Hall at the end of the 2030-31 school year.
In other personnel moves, the board accepted the resignation of Misty Thompson as High School Cheer Coach and approved the employment of Johanna Purcell as OKAW AVC Bookkeeper to begin March 2nd, Christopher Birkner as High School Math Teacher for the 2026-27 school year and Joshua Baker as High School Gym Custodian. The board also approved Maternity Leave for Kiersten Collingwood for this spring and approved a leave of absence for High School TLC Kassie Murray through the middle of March.
