Severe Storms will hit the area today.
We start off the day with the unseasonably warm temperatures that help lead to the severe weather as we’ll see a high of 65 today with winds gusting out of the south at better than 20 miles per hour. Then, storms will hit the area in the afternoon today and bring severe weather to the area. In their latest update, the National Weather Service in St. Louis says thunderstorms are expected to develop along and ahead of a cold front as early as 9 am this morning in Missouri. The NWS says the storms will strengthen as they move into Illinois early this afternoon. They say that damaging winds and a tornado or two are the main threats from 12 pm to 6 pm this afternoon over our area.
