(Edwardsville, IL) — One person is dead following a crash involving a driver fleeing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Police. State police say SIUE police tried to pull over a Chevy truck Sunday night after an officer observed the truck driving unsafely on New Poag Road and then driving the wrong way on SIU Northern Access Road. The truck sped away through Edwardsville before the driver lost control and crashed into the Redmon Insurance building in Edwardsville. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
