BSE got off to a bit of a slow start but quickly got things moving and pulled away from Windsor/Stew-Stras for a 59-30 win that gave them the National Trail Conference regular season title as they finished NTC play undefeated at 9-0. There was plenty of scoring early as the Lady Bombers and the Hatchets traded baskets with a couple stops by each team in between. BSE held a slim 11-10 lead just inside two minutes to go in the first quarter, but WSS took the lead 12-11 and then got a put back basket after a stop of BSE to get to a 14-11 lead just inside a minute to go in the quarter. BSE was unable to answer on their last possession and trailed 14-11 to end the first. BSE quickly turned things around though and went on a 13-2 run in the first half of the second quarter to take the lead and get a little breathing room, 24-16, before a 9-3 run to end the quarter had them up 33-19 at halftime. A quick 4-0 run to open the third quarter pushed the Lady Bombers lead to 37-19 as WSS called a timeout to reset things. BSE continued to roll after the timeout, outscoring the Hatchets 8-3 the rest of the quarter and pushing their lead out further to 45-22 as they headed into the fourth quarter. The Bombers gave up eight points to WSS in the fourth quarter but preserved their big lead with 14 points of their own to close out the 59-30 win. BSE finishes up the regular season at 27-3 and the 9-0 finish that gives them the regular season NTC title marks the first time in program history that the Lady Bombers are conference champions in either the regular season or the conference tournament. They now will get the next handful of days off before they begin postseason play. They are the #1 seed in their Sub-Sectional and will play in the North Clay Regional with a quarterfinal BYE moving them to the Semifinals on Monday night at 6:00pm where they will play the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between North Clay and Red Hill.
