(Chicago, IL) — Hundreds of Illinois National Guard troops are still under the control of President Trump. Governor Pritzker’s office tells the Chicago Tribune that the 60-day federalization order issued on October 4th in conjunction with Operation Midway Blitz was extended for at least another month. The extension was ordered even though the soldiers were never deployed to protect federal officers and assets during immigration enforcement operations. The troops have mostly remained at an Illinois Army National Guard training site in Marseilles.
