(Marion Co., IL) — Officials are investigating after a trumpeter swan found dead last week near Kinmundy. Marion County authorities say the discovery was made December 5th. X-rays revealed the bird had been shot with numerous BBs. Several trumpeter swans have been spotted recently in the Kinmundy area and around Carlyle Lake.
