The Altamont Indians put on a strong second-half performance to come away with a 60-43 win over the Vandalia Vandals on Friday night. The Indians came out firing offensively, jumping out to a 19-11 first-quarter lead. Altamont would see that lead grow to as much as 14 in the second quarter, but the Vandals would rally to cut the deficit to 31-20 going into halftime. Altamont would keep its foot on the gas coming out of the break, but a mid-quarter surge from Vandalia would help cut the deficit to six at one point, before the Indians closed out the quarter with a 46-37 lead. The fourth quarter would be all Altamont as they would go on to outscore the Vandals 14-6 run to close out the game, and secure them with the 60-43 win. The win improves Altamont to 2-1 on the season. The Indians will be back in action on Tuesday to take on Newton. The loss drops the Vandals to 1-2 on the season.
