(Springfield, IL) — The Massey Commission is unveiling its final report. The commission was formed after the shooting death of Sonya Massey last year in Springfield by former Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy Sean Grayson. The report reveals recommendations designed to prevent a similar incident from happening again. They include a change in hiring practices, training, and accountability for law enforcement and the creation of a county-wide mental health board and crisis response protocols.
