The Illinois State Police says the death investigation in Vandalia is just beginning.
This morning a release from the Illinois State Police says that on November 14, 2025, the Vandalia Police Department requested the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 to conduct a death investigation. A person of interest has been detained. This investigation is in its infancy and there is no additional information available at this time.
