The Liberty Theatre Foundation has quietly been working over the last year to move forward with its goal of rebuilding and reopening the Liberty Theatre in downtown Vandalia to serve as a community landmark once again. The foundation has held fundraisers and Foundation President Dana Leskera says they have been able to get infrastructure plans for the building and more done over the last several months.
Now that they have architectural renderings and cost for the theatre, there will be more events held by the foundation but Leskera says they won’t all be centered around fundraising but serve as more of a way to connect the community to the theatre once again.
Fundraisers are currently being held for the theatre, one with the help of a local business, and we will hear from Leskera about those tomorrow.
