Sunny, Windy & Mild Today–Elevated Fire Danger this afternoon over the area

We will be sunny, windy and mild today.

We are looking at sunny skies today with a high of 61.  Winds from the northwest will gust better than 20 miles per hour today.  Then, we’ll see mostly clear skies for tonight with a low of 35.

Meanwhile, we have an elevated fire danger over the area this afternoon.  The National Weather Service in St. Louis says elevated fire danger is expected this afternoon across northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois where low humidity and elevated winds will make erratic fire spread favorable. Take care to properly discard cigarettes, avoid parking on dry grass, and avoid activities that cause open flames or sparks.
