The Vandals will host C-Z-R (Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton) on Saturday at 2 pm at Mark Greer Field.
The football coop has been a longtime one between Christopher High School and Zeigler-Royalton High School. They remain separate in many other sports.
C-Z-R went 5-4 this year to make the playoffs after going 0-9 last year. This is their first playoff appearance since 2008. You can see their results on the link below

Their head coach is Mike Rude in his first year, but Coach Rude is a legendary coach in southern Illinois. He coached Johnston City from 1991 to 2006 and was 111-53 during that time with 12 playoff appearances. He then coached and co-coached at Sesser-Valier from 2019 to 2022 and led them to 3 playoff appearances.
C-Z-R was outscored by their opponents this year 28.2 to 31.8. The Vandals outscored their opponents per game 45.6 to 14.6.
The winner will move on to take on the winner of the 7/10 game which will be #10 Greenville (6-3) at #7 Stanford Olympia (6-3).
