Salaries for City of Vandalia Department Heads, Vandalia Mayor discusses some recent increases

Over the past few meetings, the City of Vandalia has hired two new Department Heads.  And, with that came some pay raises for those positions and one other.  And, Mayor Doug Knebel discusses those increases.

New Water Plant Superintendent Joseph Simpson will receive an annual salary of $89,000.  And, Economic Development Director/Tourism Director Amber Daulbaugh receives an annual salary of $110,000.  City Administrator LaTisha Paslay’s salary was also recently increased to an annual salary of $120,000.

Speaking on this week’s podcast “Talking about Vandalia,” Mayor Doug Knebel says they needed to go above their former salaries for the two new hires.

And, he says they found a pay increase was certainly warranted for the City Administrator position.

The salaries were all approved in an ordinance by the City Council at their September 22nd meeting.  As for other Department Head salaries—-
