Richard A. Wiseman, 72, of Effingham, died at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2025 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Effingham.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2025 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Altamont with military rites by Effingham American Legion Post #120. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Richard was born on Monday, November 24, 1952 in St. Elmo to Glenn and Evelyn (Luffman) Wiseman. He married Peggy Jones on May 7, 1986 and she preceded him in death on October 30, 2013. He was retired from Jalaa Fiberglass, Newton and was a proud United States Marine Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by; his son, Jeremy Wiseman, Effingham; daughter, Holly L. (John Kuhajda, Jr.) Wiseman, Effingham; sister, Glenda Boehm, Charleston; and four grandchildren, Draven, Silas, Hailey and Jaiden.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by; his parents; brother, Delmar Wiseman; and sister, Sue Fairbanks.
