The Fayette County Board will be further discussing the possibility of creating an Ambulance Oversight Committee.
At Tuesday night’s Fayette County Board meeting, Fayette County Emergency Management Agency Coordinator Ryan Scott presented the board with the idea of creating the committee. Speaking after the meeting, Scott talks about the reasons he believes the committee would be a very good idea.
And, as has been talked about before, Rural Med EMS currently has no contract with Fayette County. So, there is nothing to keep them in place here.
Scott mentioned that Rural Med EMS has contracts in neighboring Bond and Effingham Counties and also with Madison County. The matter was tabled at Tuesday night’s meeting. There will be work to form a potential committee and an ordinance that will come back for discussion and possible approval at the November meeting.
