Now that the building process is getting underway for the new City of Vandalia water treatment plant, the process of the project as a whole speeds up rather quickly. After nearly a decade of discussion, planning, designing and more, the construction phase is beginning and Vandalia Mayor Doug Knebel says once the new plant is completed it will be worth the wait.
In talking about a timeline for the new plant to be constructed and come online, city engineer Lee Beckman of Milano & Grunloh says the plant could possibly be online as soon as late next year.
The new water treatment plant is located off of Fletcher Street, east of Sunset Storage.
