Patti Michele Adams Bohner, 66, of Vandalia, IL passed away on October 1, 2025 in Glen Carbon, IL. Patti was born in Vandalia, the daughter of Don and Diane Engelhardt Adams. Patti graduated in 1977 as salutatorian from Vandalia Community High School, then went on to Butler University and Eastern Illinois University, earning a degree in Accounting. Patti married Steve Bohner in Vandalia on January 12, 1990. Patti and Steve worked together at Vandalia Correctional Center. Patti was a member of Vandalia First United Methodist Church and Delta Gamma sorority. Patti enjoyed baking banana bread for special friends and former teachers. She was an avid reader and loved the recommendations of her friends at Evans Public Library. Patti was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Bohner, father, Don Adams, and sister Allison Adams Horn, grandparents Ervin and Eloise Wangrow of Vandalia and Maurice and Hilda Adams of Patoka. Memorials can be made to Evans Public Library, in lieu of flowers. A celebration of life will be held at Vandalia First United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 19 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation from noon-1:00 p.m.
