Vandalia School Buildings deemed safe—Message from Supt of Schools and Police Chief

From Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Garrison and Vandalia Police Chief Jeff Ray–

This is Dr. Garrison with Chief Ray. After receiving an online threat, immediate actions were taken to start the evacuation process.  The Vandalia Police Department was assisted by IL Secretary of State Police bomb squad. High school students were evacuated to the junior high. The high school was searched by officers and bomb sniffing dogs. After the buildings were deemed to be secure, the all clear was given to resume school. High school students and staff are returning to VCHS. The Vandalia Police Department with the FBI are continuing the investigation.
