(Decatur, IL) — A former substitute teacher at Decatur Public Schools is going to prison for having sexual relations with a sixth-grade student. Alley Bardfield was sentenced to ten years behind bars after pleading guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault. Authorities say Bardfield was arrested in April of last year after the victim’s mother reported to police that she had an inappropriate relationship with her 11-year-old son. The boy was assigned to Bardfield’s class at Hope Academy in Decatur.
