A project that has taken a little longer than first anticipated should be coming to an end in the next couple of days.
During Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting, Lee Beckman of Milano & Grunloh Engineering gave the City Council his monthly report on projects in the community. He started off updating the council on the Randolph Street project and saying the street should re-open in the next couple of days.
The project was originally broken up into two phases–the first phase from Sunset Drive to Dynamic Dental and the second from Dynamic Dental to Capitol Pointe Apartments. Stage one was completed a while back with the city council approving to go with a 13 feet by 80 feet section that did not reach the pavement grade of 3500 PSI, with the contractor giving the city that section at no cost. The project was originally estimated to take 30 working days.
