Altamont Soccer jumped back into the win column on Thursday with a 5-1 win over Wesclin at home. The Indians opened up the game’s scoring with a goal by Aiden Rosales off a Cooper Pals assist five minutes into the first half for a 1-0 lead and doubled that lead to 2-0 with 17 minutes remaining in the first half on a goal from Ashton Buchanan off an assist from Rosales. Altamont struck again before halftime as Cooper Pals would score to put the Indians up 3-0 at halftime. In the second half, Altamont continued to build on their lead in the second half with another goal from Rosales on a Cooper Pals assist for a 4-0 lead before Chase Pals would get in on the action and net a goal to put Altamont up 5-0. Wesclin would manage to score one goal in the closing minutes of the game to avoid the shutout, but the early damage by the Indians had put the game away. Altamont improves to 4-6 on the season and will have a tough test on Saturday morning as they travel to Effingham to take on the 7-1-1 Hearts at 10:00am.
