(Chicago, IL) — Darren Bailey is seeking a rematch with Governor Pritzker. The former Republic state senator is reportedly planning to run for governor of Illinois again next year. Cook County Republican Party Chairman Aaron Del Mar said he has agreed to be his running mate. A formal campaign announcement is expected later this month. Bailey lost to Pritzker in the governor’s race in 2022.
