(Washington, DC) — President Trump is warning Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker to get crime in Chicago under control. In a post on Truth Social Saturday, Trump called Pritzker “weak and pathetic” and said he must get crime straightened out fast. Earlier this week Pritzker criticized Trump’s proposed intervention in Chicago as authoritarian overreach, citing federal crime data showing many of the cities with the highest homicide rates are in Republican-led states. This comes as Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order that says Chicago police will not “collaborate with federal agents” on any joint operations, “including civil immigration enforcement.”
